Underground Safety Alliance (USA) was incorporated in November 2005, as a not for profit umbrella organization for “Call Before You Dig” one call centers. The founding members were Kentucky Underground Protection Inc. (KUPI), now known as Kentucky811, and Indiana Underground Plant Protection Service Inc. (IUPPS) now known as Indiana811. The Board of Directors is comprised of three members from the Boards of Directors of each of the participating states. The By-Laws and accounting structure were formed in such a way as to allow other one call organizations to join in the future.
